The New Truck – a short story from Holden to Toyota

My trusty VS Commodore just wasn’t cutting it any more, and after years of denying it, I finally decided to buy a new ute. There couldn’t be a more reliable vehicle out there, the VS was an outstanding model when I first acquired this one (below) and among the best made by Holden at the time.

As many people would know from buying a new or second-hand vehicle, there are some tough decisions to make. Fortunately, I’d been doing my research and taking a few for test drives, putting them through their paces well before diving into a purchase.

For me, the Toyota Hilux made a huge impression. I could see myself loving it both in terms of practical application and comfort on the more questionable sections of road on the Yorke Peninsula.¬†After a bit of thought (and a bit of creative accounting) I managed to squeeze this beauty into my budget, and I’ve never looked back.
